The proposals have a range of key objectives, which are to:
Deliver a unique Research & Development (R&D) facility at MSP, which will benefit the local, regional and national economy.
Deliver on-going enhancements to MSP and meet the objectives of the Strategic Regeneration Framework.
Deliver high quality landscaping and public realm, with enhanced pedestrian and cycle connections.
Implement a sustainable travel plan that meets the needs of future occupiers and promotes sustainable transport.
Respond to the surrounding context and enhance local streetscape, whilst improving access and safety for pedestrians and cyclists.
Deliver enhanced biodiversity and increase the number of trees on site, which will make a positive contribution to on-site ecology.
Maximise the building’s low carbon performance to support the City’s 2038 net zero carbon strategy.
Create up to 2,500 new on-site jobs during construction and operation, with a commitment to provide jobs and training opportunities for local people.
